Follicle Thought Site Updates

Hi Everyone, this is a check-in to keep you abreast of what’s going on with the website and to announce a few hair-growth news items.

Yokohama and Fries, Please

First, I’m pleased to announce I have an exclusive update regarding the “french fry hair growth” craze which was clobbering headlines around the world for the past several weeks. For those unfamiliar with the french fry reference, there was a scientific article published by researchers from Yokohama National University last month. The article was about the research team’s work in cloning hair follicles. One of the ingredients used in their cell culturing material happens to also be an ingredient in McDonald’s french fries. An ingenious journalist created an otherwise non-existent correlation between eating fries and curing hair loss, which flourished in the mainstream media. My article will be published on Monday 3/12. Please enjoy the Updates page until then which has been updated with Aclaris news on Friday 3/9.

More Updates

Finally, I occasionally discover that long-time readers of this site are still unaware of the “Updates” section of this website. You can find it by clicking “Updates” in the main menu bar. The Updates thread is one article which is continually updated with interesting news items; it acts as a news feed. However, when a news item is added to the Updates thread, there is no email alert sent to you, hence I recommend bookmarking the Updates page in your web browser and checking back there often.

Today, the Updates thread has news from the Follicum team who have officially kicked off their phase 2a clinical trial for hair growth on the scalp. Visit Updates for more information.
