A Review Of Regenera Activa Results
In this article we will take a look at a new stem cell hair growth procedure which has been attracting attention online recently.
I decided to create this post due to the multiple inquires I’ve received over the last few months from readers who are interested in learning more about Regenera Activa. This topic has grown in popularity after the Daily Mail published an article in August describing the stories of patients who have had positive outcomes with the treatment.
Before we get into the photo results section, let’s first review what the Regenera Activa (also called Rigenera) procedure is. It begins by extracting three tissue samples from the back of scalp. The tissue samples are extracted with a 2.5 mm hole punch from the bottom of the donor scalp, also known as the nape section. The samples are essentially large FUE extractions and contain several hair follicles each, as well as the surrounding fat and vascular tissue. The tissue samples are then placed into the Rigenera machine and mechanically grinded into a solution. Stem cells from the hair follicles, fat, and blood are filtered by the machine and are extracted into a needle syringe. The stem cell-containing solution is then injected into the scalp in a similar fashion to PRP. Besides its use in androgenic alopecia, Rigenera is also used for wound healing and the treatment of vitiligo.
When I first heard about this procedure I was not sure how effective it would be because the technique seemed unorthodox. Since then, I have heard from a few reputable hair doctors that interesting results are possible (even if uncommon) from the Regenera procedure. The verdict still remains unclear.
Regenera Activa Results From Various Clinics
After browsing through numerous Regenera results which are available online, I found the following images to be the most consistent in terms of before and after conditions (lighting, angle, etc.) from what was available. I also found these images to show varying degrees of conclusive hair improvement, however, remember that these are some of the best results I found and may not display the typical response.
For now, the Rigenera procedure is still considered new in the hair loss field and does not have an established identity among physicians and the consumer base. Follicle Thought is not currently endorsing the procedure. The purpose of this post was to simply take a look at Regenera and begin a discussion on it. Over time, the verdict will become more clear, but it could be said that this procedure holds potential to be an alternative or adjunct to PRP therapy.
What do the readers think of Regenera Activa so far? If anyone has had the procedure done, please share about your experience and results in the comments section as many readers would be interested to hear your stories. I’m also interested in hearing from any doctors who are administering the treatment.
Update: A few readers in the comment section have shared their concerns from their own experience of the Regenera treatment. Be sure to read them before considering the treatment for yourself.

#3 appears to be quite improvement for the woman..how many doctors are doing this?
There’s quite a few doctors who are offering the procedure now, it originates in Spain and seems to be more popular in Europe for the time being. Some US doctors have begun to test it out like Dr. Cole who is known for experimenting with different techniques to enhance hair growth.
Just want to mention that the prices I am hearing for Regenera Activa is way to high. 1700 is the medium price at the moment in the Netherlands https://medicaestetica.nl/behandelingen/haaruitval-regenera-activa/.
Same with prp, who would ever pay more than 500 for that ? Here it is basically 250 https://www.medi-kliniek.nl/haar/alternatieve-behandelingen-tegen-haaruitval/prp-haar-behandeling/
And yes both do it the correct way.
I expect Regenera Activa to be below 1000 in the next months as in Amsterdam already competition is high and will pressure the price. People in Asia and US that pay 10K+ is crazy.
It is a very simple procedure that does not need a lot of time or expertise. Also do not forget that you have to do Regenera Activa many times over your lifetime (maybe even 1 time a year) for it to help you ..
I’m glad you finally covered this! I’ve been seeing different discussions on this topic on various sites. Would love to hear from the doctor you have been speaking with.
I think # 2 and 6 show improved hair growth. Those people must be happy with their results.
Who are the doctors youve been speaking to about the procedure if you don’t mind?
I’ve been in touch with Dr. Jerry Cooley hair surgeon and Dr. Andy Goren who is a well known hair researcher and dermatologist. He has a bio on this site https://dhahranderma.com/teams/prof-dr-andy-goren/
Admin, I think you’re spot on taking a cautious view of this. Like you, I’m not saying it works or doesn’t work. You can find pics on the internet showing success from PRP similar to the ones from Regenera. However, for most PRP is not the holy grail nor even lives up to what most Dr.’s claim. I know this from experience. Yoda had 5 sessions of advanced PRP (CRP) with a reputable, experienced doctor and the only results were some shedding and a lighter wallet! My guess is this will be similar with Regerera but it’s only a guess…not a fact.
I agree with Yoda on the variance of results on PRP. You can find people that have had success with it and others do not. Perhaps this Regenera has a little higher ceiling for the ones that get good results. Still seems like it is best for people with a not-too-far advanced balding pattern. Interesting though until more definitive proof comes out.
Yoda, can you please detail what you meant by “the only results were some shedding” in the context of the PRP sessions? When you say “some shedding”, you mean more shedding than before doing the PRP treatment, or less? If it was more, did the shedding fully recovered, and if yes, after how much days / weeks / months? Thank you in advance.
these pictures are very old and many companies use these pictures.
Actually Gus these pictures come from individual hair clinics, they’re not old or duplicated. People can discover things like that easily on the internet now. I don’t understand why you would even suggest this..
The problem with before/after photos is that people have longer hair in the after photo so that we can’t really compare, they can comb over larger bald area than with shorter hair. They should cut their hair to the same length as in before.
Jonathan, I know what you mean. This happens in virtually every results image which is not a hair transplant. If you’re talking about #2 though his hair seems long enough in the before picture to cover his scalp if it was thick enough to, and it still looks pretty thin there. So even if the result is not as dramatic as seen in the after photo it appears there is still thickening occurring. I am not vouching for the treatment itself but that is just my opinion of that particular result. Some improvement was made.
Hello, so is it Dr. Cole offering this now? 6 months ago he was not and was on to exosomes as the next best hope. They do nothing and cost a fortune. He is a nice guy but he is in this for money only.
Dr. Cole I believe has used this in the past at least according to a video I saw on his youtube channel, either that or he was studying it with colleagues. How did you hear about Dr. Cole and exosomes? I was not aware of his work in exosomes. I was referring to Dr. Jerry Cooley who I talked to who is using this procedure lately.
I had it done. Zero results in my case.
Wow, thanks for sharing your case in exosomes. Did you go to Dr. Cole?
Yes
how long it’s been done. Because they say result would be after some 2 to 3 months
I also had it done and no results after 4 months. Was surprisingly painful too. £2K poorer. Maybe slowed my hairloss down but I really can’t tell. Definitely no visible improvement or thickening.
I did this treatment and was optimistic enough to get it again. The science feels sound…. cells from a healthy place are relocated into a place that needs help. It’s surprisingly painful (injections and 3 biopsies that sometimes need stitches). Only takes an hr though.
I had 2 treatments 3 months apart so I’m hoping to see visible results after 6 months. For now shedding has stopped and some hairs are thicker. I think it works best in earlier stages when there are miniature hairs that can be rejuvenated.
I found out about the treatment here so want to thank the admin for continuing to keep us updated on the latest! If this works it’ll be my bridge to the true next gen treatment
Ditto. Did nothing at all.
RSS you experience the exosome treatment yourself?
Yes, Zero benefit.
I agree that many patients don’t see results, although some see mild improvement but we question if that kind of money is not better spent on more traditional and proven methods. It is a lot of hype and marketing by unethical clinics unfortunately and some of the before and after photos that was featured in this thread are more a cosmetic dressing rather than real results, to the discerning eye.
Thanks Ethan, this is the kind of feedback that the thread was designed for.
Dr. Jerry Cooley and Dr. John Cole on exosomes. A must!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdHfoAPqO6E
Do you have the time stamps for those particular parts of the convo, 2 hrs is long 😉 Thanks very much.
Dr. Cooley 14:10 -> 44:20
Dr. Cole 1:06:36 -> 1:25:09
these people did receive some good results but it depends on how frequent the treatment is needed and what it costs to determine if it is useful for the majority.
Exosomes seem to be exciting shit … I already saw several companies with Research on this like GE HealthCare, Avalon, Weill Cornell, Exopharm or Haircell. … and I guess Stemore and Stemson will Research this as well.
BTW its funny this morning I saw this article About University of North Carolina About “Needle-Free Injection of Exosomes Derived from Human Dermal Fibroblast Spheroids Ameliorates Skin Photoaging” … nice delivery method.
The guy on #5 seems to have results similar to finasteride, which is pretty good. You can see his hair is thicker in the after picture.
These look like pretty solid results but I’d want to hear directly from a patient who had it done.
One question. How do I get this NOW?
Corwin, hadn’t heard from you in a while, good to hear from ya. I know Dr. Cooley is offering the treatment, I’m sure other doctors in the US are as well. Make sure you research it quite a bit before deciding on a session and talk to the doctor a bit about his experience with it so far. Are you using the NGF product yet?
No, I don’t think it’s available yet. Does anyone know?
I have used the NGF-574 for about four months and have not seen any results so I would say don’t bother. There’s a guy on YouTube that’s been using it now for nine months with very little results. Put it in the Reboost Trinov category of crap.
Sorry to hear that Michael, but thanks for sharing your experience.
I thought that might’ve been the case since it probably would’ve gone global already if it wad effective.
The outbreak is getting me down. Not only has it been devastating to so many people, it’s also impeding research into alopecia treatments and travelling is so risky. I was planning on heading to see Dr. Cooley for exosomes in August. Now i have no idea when or if that’ll happen.
how much does this procedure run?
The Daily Mail articles states about £2,000 which is about $2,500. This is around the same price that PRP was when it first came out, perhaps a little higher than PRP.
Probably lower than exosomes which are being offered now. How much does an exosome treatment go for RSS is you read this?
According to Dr, Cooley, Exosomes procedure ranges between $2,500 US and $5,000 US.
This is very exciting news! What about “Bimatoprost” as a topical, AND as a injectable?? I have hair loss related to Sensory Neuropathy and Lupus. I have FINALLY found a 5% Minoxidil that my scalp can tolerate….WHEW!! It has other ingredients that actually feel great! The hair is growing back…..BUT the addition of the Bimatoprost has changed the quality of the hair shaft…….I lost ALL the hair on top of my head, and 1/2 way down the back…..before the Bimatoprost the hair was like what the call “Lupus Hair” horrible thin, weird….BUT God Bless this mixture seems to be working. I am just wondering who else has tried the combination OR had the injections…..I have a pending appointment with a hair doc who does the blood thing !?!?!?……..Kindly, Victoria O.
A few things I stopped taking finasteride because of reading how many people took the company to court why do people keep taking it ? Knowing the bad side effects it has …. also what happened to the radio link here regarding hair loss prp I think it was I lost link want to finish listening to it great broad cast
Victoria, bimatoprost has shown hair growth effect used topically. I think there have even been published studies. I imagine it would potentially even work better as an injectable, are you discussing this with a doctor?
What is going on with hairclone admin? I am ready to celebrate…tell us please
Hi Victoria great news! Can i ask how would you did you apply the Bimatoprost and how often? I am currently using an eyelash conditioner and seen amazing results on my lashes and im tempted to try it on my hair!
Hi Victora where did you purchase the Bimatoprost from?
Where do you buy your topical bimatoprost from?
Hi Admin. Could you provide more dermatologists you know who perform Regenera Activa treatment in the United States? I searched on Google and found no info. Dr. Cooley as you suggest in this thread is in North Carolina but I am in the west coast. It is not very convenient for me to fly to NC.
Pi, I could not find a distinct list myself, perhaps you could try emailing info@regeneraactiva.com to ask for a list of US based physicians who are offering the treatment.
Hi everyone I’ve booked a consultation with Dr Liakos in London for this treatment, Has anyone on here done it and was it effective?
Rate in UK is £2000 but that includes consultation , 2 laser therapy, oxygen treatment and follow up.
Best wishes for your consultation Con
Hi Con, can you please follow up with your results?
Hi i had my consultation with Dr Liakas in London today. He was nice and honest and patiently answered all my questions. He said he typically see a 20-25% density increase in his patients aged 25-64. It sounds promising but at 2000GBP im going to have a serious think about its worth to me. Will post up if i decide to go ahead with the treatment.
Thanks @Follicle Thought. Dr Liakos at Vie Aesthetics was recommended by the email address you provided above so thank you! He has a few pics on his site and this was one of his patients. https://www.tracykiss.com/beauty/vie-aesthetics-stemcell-non-surgical-hair-transplant/
By sending email to info@regeneraactiva.com to ask who offers this treatment in the United States, I was recommended Dr. Jim Ye in Beverly Hills Elite Laser & Dermatology Center. The clinic is located in Beverly Hills, CA. I have already received a regenera activa treatment from Dr. Ye last week. Dr. Ye is very nice and professional. His email address is jimyedai@gmail.com.
Hi Pi,
Can you please post your results?
Envee
I emailed them and will post a full list based on what they send. Dr. Jim Ye had terrible reviews on several sites.
Cole is charging 8K or so for Exosomes – There is no mention of Regenera Activa. I am not sure if exosomes are superior but either way, I’m not paying 8K to test it out. I ended up booking a $500 ticket to Barcelona and booking at a clinic there. https://www.institutodelpelo.es/hairclinic/ . The cost is 1,400 Euro and booked for end of first week of Jan. so will let everyone know how it went. If anyone else has done this in Barcelona or else where, please let me know
I had Regenera done in Hungary 3 months ago. Worthless, didn’t even slow down shedding.
still no results?
Hi.. does anybody knows if it works if I want density in donor area after FUE transplant?
Any news on Regenera results ?????…………….
Hi all,
I am a 38 years old woman and just had Regenera Activa done 2 days ago. A word of warning: it is painful, both the anaestesic shots for the punch biopsies and the injections on the scalp. Not the nicest hour but hey, it’s only a moment in your life!
Right now I have to let the biopsies heal, so no hair wash for at least 48h, it bled a little still so I think I’ll wait for 72h and let the wounds dry a bit more. You can’t swim in the sea or swimming pool for 2 weeks to avoid complications/infections. No pain overall after.
My hair started thinning about 10 years ago, at the top, but also on the sides. I tried Minoxidil for a while, but it ruined my scalp. I had to stop and it took me years to rebalance my scalp. I would say I managed to « maintain » it between grade 1 and 2 during those years. I use Toppik powder which allows me not to be self-conscious and stress about it too much (would only make it worse). This has been a life saver for me.
I live in Barcelona, Spain, and I have to say I am very surprised by the prices I read here for the US and UK. I paid 650€ and it was the full procedure ie 4 punches, 2 syringes. I have to come back for follow up in 3 months. The clinic is a reputable one in Barcelona, Clinica Tufet.
So now let’s wait for the results!
Best wishes on results Laura!
Good luck Laura, I am also 38 and would love to try this out, waiting on a few more reviews.
Sending you positive vibes!
please let us know how you it goes for you.
Hi Laura,
Did it work for you? I’m thinking of doing it in Bcn as well, looking forward to your follow up comment!
I am 32 years old man and just had the Regenera Activa for 2 weeks. The treatment was painful, but it gets better after 1~2 hours. I felt tired after the treatment (don’t know why). It cost me SGD$3200 in Singapore. Hope it works!
Hi , may i know which clinic you went to ? I’m from singpaore.
i am 29 years old from israel and i did it one month ago it’s cost me 1200 dollars it was painful but for big change there is worth it.
after one mounth i thing the hair become more soft and thicker which it stress me out becouse its not fit to my self character so for now i am woundering if its was correct step.
if someone know what happend to the hair after 1 years or 2 when its neccery to repit the treatment please let me know if it back to the last look or what?
i am missing to my old hair jajaja
Hi Nir, how are the results so far, can you share with me the name of the clinic, I am also from Israel
@Admin can you find out who in Sydney performs Regenera Activa? i emailed info@regeneraactiva.com however havent had a response.
Thanks so much
Hi Maria, I don’t know more information than that for now. You could try contacting their Facebook page and Instgram as well and sending multiple follow up emails to their address. Don’t feel bad about it as they absolutely should be responding to you. https://www.facebook.com/RegeneraActiva/ https://www.instagram.com/regeneraactiva_amt/
Thanks @Admin will do! 🙂
Does anyone have any results to share?
Yeah, let me tell you about Regenera-Activa. I had it done July 31st and now five months in. It was very painful and didn’t work. After 30 days my hair started falling out. Due to the trauma to my scalp, I have lost more hair to the point that my after looks like picture #3’s before! I an having severe emotional stress over this. I am now the oppik queen. People should be warned….there IS a side effect.
BP
I just saw this on instagram @hairtransplant.surgeon located in Melbourne.
Thanks! This surgeon works with Dr Knudsen who is quite renowned in hair transplant. Do you know if they perform regenera ?
Dr Knudsen’s clinic does perform Regenera.
I got Regenra last Tuesday (August 3, 2021) in Singapore, at a clinic with a “cliff” in it’s name. I’m almost a Norwood 5. I have a strip of thinning hair in front, receded temples and large balding crown (there is a lot of miniaturized hair still present on my crown and its not bald yet). I went from a Norwood 3V to a Norwood 5ish in about a year, so a lot of the loss is fairly recent. I got Regenra because I had bad sides from both Minoxidil and Finasteride. Thankfully, sides went away immediately on stopping both drugs. Anyway onto Regenra: it cost me S$3220 with taxes. The initial anesthesia injection was quick and painless. I felt the doctor rushed a bit after that because the punches hurt (I counted 4 of them, but I was in pain so it could have been up to 6). Then, the device did its thing and about 10 minutes later the doctor injected the solution back in. The injections were tolerable. He injected it all over the scalp, but I felt they more towards the front (behind the hairline). Then, he applied an antibiotic/anti-inflammation cream called Foban, dressed the wound and ask me to apply the cream twice a day for a week. I waited 24 hours to shower. The injection sites and punch sites were sore/tender for 3 days. It’s been a week now, and the punch sites still feel a bit sore/tender, with the discomfort extending down to my neck. I only applied the cream once a day for the first 3 days. The rest of the scalp feels completely fine (pain-free). The doctor said that for me the best possible result would be a slowing down of the hair loss. He wasn’t hopeful for much else. He did NOT push me into any decision – he clearly laid out the facts before the surgery. I took a few days after consultation to weigh the pros and cons and decided to try it. Anyway, I’ll update this review every 2 months.
Thank you so much for your sharing. I live in Singapore and am thinking about taking Regenera Activa. I have been having hair loss for around 7 years. Topical treatment doesn’t work for me since my head skin is very sensitive. Other treatments like supplements and laser don’t work either. Please let me know if Regenera Activa works for you. I am quite desperate to find a treatment that at least helps my condition a bit.
4-week update: No change in my condition. My hairfall is continuing at the same pace as before. It has not slowed down. The existing hair is also becoming thinner (miniaturizing?) at the same pace as before. The area where the punches were done doesn’t feel the same as before the procedure (or as the rest of my scalp). It isn’t painful, just feels different, sort of numb. The area slightly above it and below it, all the way to my neck, also feels “stretched”, as if someone is lightly grabbing it all the time. Weird.
Anyway, it may be that the process for Regenra takes time. I have had better results with dermarolling (gently, with a .75 mm roller, once a week). However, it is time-consuming and a bit painful for me so I was hoping Regenra would work. Will update every 4 weeks.
Thank you so much for your detailed update. Look forward to another update 4 weeks later. I hope it will work well for you.
For dermaroller, did you do it yourself at home or at a clinic? If you did it at a clinic, can you give me clinic name. I haven’t tried dermaroller and searching on internet doesn’t suggest a good clinic for hair microneedling.
Hi HH,
Dermarolled at home. No clinic. There is a guy on YouTube called Scott Nali that has some videos showing how to do it. I only tried the 0.75 mm dermaroller. I didn’t try any of the shampoos or serums he uses. A friend of mine has advised using a derma stamp instead of a dermaroller for lesser damage and scarring. There are many articles/ videos online showing why that is better. However, the dermaroller results are very temporary (my results last a week at best), and for me it only works on crown and midscalp, not on temples. Also, it doesn’t regrow hair, but slows down the pace of loss.
Hi Gary. Thank you so much for your sharing 🙂 I will check that video out and try to see if dermarolling would help to slow down my hair loss. I also hope that Regenera Activa would help to grow new hair.
Hey Gary.Did you experience any shedding from dermaroller ? I have been doing same size derma roll for maybe 4 weeks and I’ve been sheddding more. When does it stop?
2 month update: Regenra has done NOTHING for me. My hair is falling at the same pace, the existing hair is getting thinner at the same pace, and I have not seen a single new hair (vellus or terminal). It’s a useless “treatment”. Having tried many other treatments, I can safely say this was the MOST DISAPPOINTING and INEFFECTIVE of the lot. Also, I now have a slight bony protrusion on my skull right next to the punch site in addition to the other discomfort I’ve described in my 4-week update. I believe it is due to the incompetence of the doctor when doing the punches but there is no way I can prove that. Anyway, I should never have gotten this “treatment”.
Sorry to hear about your experience Gary. Thank you for sharing with the audience.
Gary, i am 1.5years post regenera treatment in Holland and it has done nothing for me as well. I lost 1700euro on a bunk treatment. This company should be sewed!!!!
My hair kept falling same pace and did nothing yo me. I started finasteride again 2months ago… fucking scammers in tbe hairloss community. Its enough that we have to go through this shit thing called MPB now on top the “hair docters” are stealing our monry and making empty promises.
I’m sorry to hear your results as well Dennis. It’s not sounding great for Regenera so far.
Sorry to hear that the treatment did nothing. I myself also tried many solutions as the suggestion from my clinic but so far not only my hair but also my money disappears. It’s really hard to find a clinic which can really help with hair loss in Singapore
Hi,
I tried the procedure two years ago (Paris, France) and it did absolutely nothing for me. It was a waste of money.
Thanks Ana. It appears that Regenera has not received much positive review from the audience. I wonder if I should keep the article up?
I’m a 35 female with thinning since 19. I had regeneva activa done by Dr laikas at vie in London Harley Street on 1 Sep 21. Today I think my hair follicles are thicker, my partner does too. It’s tough to tell if it was this or not as I started micro needling at the same time and upped my meds: I was already on daily 5% minox and 50mg androcur 10 days a month and daily dianette. I did regeneva and added micro needling 1.5mm once a week and upped androcur to daily.
I just wanted to add that the procedure to “stamp” out the tissue not painful sure to anesthetic just very weird and crunchy sounding. The injections of anesthetic and the therapy are sore but if you can micro needle you can handle this no problem!
This week I’ve bought an led and laser light helmet that I use for 25 mins once a day. Hopefully this will further compound the results!!
Appreciate any suggestions on what else I can do! Got so sad about this I almost shaved it all. Wish bald women were socially acceptable 🙁
Hi Nicole,
I am a 30 female and I have been struggling with hair loss since 20s. I tried many things like minoxidil (I am allergic to it, sadly), laser helmet, supplements, essential oils, menstrual pills etc., but nothing helps. About 1.5 month ago, I tried microneedling, 0.5mm once a week. I notices that my hair falls more around 2-3 week after the first micro needling. Did the same thing happen to you? Now I wonder whether I should continue micro needling.
Im using a dermapen not a roller as I’d heard that you can damage the hair if you use a roller, maybe that’s it? Also the more advanced your hairloss the thinner your skulp and you shouldn’t be using a needle too deep. I dont think I’ve experienced more shedding personally, sorry I can’t be of more help!
Thanks Nicole. I think micro needling just doesn’t work for me. I will try to find another way.
I just this procedure (Regenera Activa) done in Singapore (17 Nov 2021). So I cannot give any updates on the success of the procedure at this point of time. I will however follow up on the efficacy after a month and subsequent to it.
I can however testify to the claims that there is no downtime after treatment. In this instance, for myself, except for the light bleeding (which has since stopped within 24 hours) when the back of your head is “punctured” with four tiny holes (the size of your little finger nails) in order to harvest the stem cell, there is no other serious adverse physical effects.
After harvesting and culturing of the stem cells, the injection (using only local anaesthetics) to the various thinning parts of your hair have some bleeding and felt like an ant bite at most, is probably the most “painful” part of the procedure. But there is no grimace or intense pain whatsoever.
I will share the name of the clinic (after getting permission) and all the details upon the success of the treatment. I also managed to have before and after videos of the procedure. So this will be a useful reference point.
The preparation and procedure itself is quite a painless event. Let’s see whether the touted claims are what as promised.
Cheers to each and every of my follicularly challenged brothers and sisters.
Hi Walter did you feel any strange sensation to the scalp or your body after receiving the injections to the scalp? Was there any sort of reaction?
Thank you for your comments, I was thinking about Regenera, but I think I will not do it after reading about the results here. I did however had 4x IPRF last year, which I don`t think made my hair thicker, but I think it helped slowing down the hairloss. I found no side effects there, there is no biopsy taken, only blood.
4-month update: Hair fall continuing at same pace. No new vellus or terminal hair. The pain that had developed in my skull has gone down but the skin/muscle being slightly “stretched” feeling around the wound site and all the way down to my neck, is still very much there. The wound site also seems sore/tender on touching. Some of the existing hair (around 20-25 percent of the hair I still had in front and top) seems to have become thicker and has not fallen out – it was definitely thinner before. Verdict: Maybe some benefits, but to me certainly not worth the pain and cost.
Admin: Please keep this article up. This is the best resource currently on Regenra. People can read the details of the procedure and our experiences and then make their own decisions. Maybe it works for some (fingers crossed for Walter).
Microneedling: I did not see any excess shedding (i.e. more than usual). Apparently, Dermastamp is better than rolling. I’m too lazy to get a stamp or pen, so I continue to use a dermaroller (0.75 mm once a week, Nizoral 2% twice a week) – It does NOT grow new hair (vellus or terminal). All it seems to do is slow down the pace of loss.
Will update after 2 months. Regenra’s supposed to lose efficacy after 6 months.
Thanks Gary, appreciated.
6 month update: Hi all. It is now 6 months since I got my procedure. No real positive changes. No new hair growth. The 20-25 percent of my existing hair that seemed to have thickened up, is now thinning rapidly (along with my other hair). The rest of my hair continues to disappear at the same pace as before and now I have a small, slick bald spot. The procedure site doesn’t hurt unless I press on it with my fingers. The skin from the procedure site to my neck still feels stretched and about a quarter of my skull (around the procedure site) continues to feel numb. Oh well. Time to look into a transplant.
Thank you for your well wishes Gary K. Cautiously optimistic that I may experience some success with the procedure.
Terminal hair at the two week point feels thicker. The quality of hair also feels softer to the touch/fingers running through.
However I am not able to discern much new growth of vellus hair. It’s only two weeks on, so I am willing to give it time.
As for residual pain that some posters have mentioned, I can now say with confidence, that I do not experience any pain (including any numbing sensation) whatsoever at the puncture points nor at the injection sites.
I have not trim or cut my hair since the Regenera Activa treatment heretofore; and the apparent slight filling out of the balding pate might be attributed to the hair length covering the balding space rather than the success of RA per se.
Perhaps my ear worm humming of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” these two weeks help? 🙂
Guess the most eloquent testimony of the Regenera Activa experience would be pictures and videos (unedited, timely, taken same place, and generally similar lighting conditions) would tell the story best.
These images (whether the results be good or bad) will be worth a thousand words of testimony.
With that in mind, can the mods here tell me how to post the pictures here?

Dear Admin,
Everyone discussing it’s efficacy but What about its safety. Alot of websites mention that it is FDA approved. However I couldn’t find a direct link to FDA website stating that it is safe. We don’t want to end up with risk of having tumors. I will be waiting for your haily appreciated input to this as expert.
Thanks and best regards
Ashitaka, thank you. Yes, Regenera has a very strong safety profile. It’s basically as safe as PRP. They only use the cells from your scalp without culturing them. Basically 0 risk that I’m aware of. This may be the reason that results are not overwhelming.
Hi everyone
I tried this almost a year ago. It was super expensive and it wasn’t painful just the doctor decided to stitch me up and the stitches were painful. I saw online no one was being stitched so it was weird.
It really improved my hair really fast and I continued to use minoxidil after to avoid losing all the new hair.
Even though it’s not a lot of hair it still boosted my confidence
I have before after photos – not sure how to upload them tho
