CosmeRNA Release Date Update

A new brief update has been shared about the official launch of the anticipated cosmeceutical CosmeRNA from the siRNAgen & Bioneer companies.

CosmeRNA is a topical siRNA serum which inhibits the production of the androgen receptor protein using small interfering RNAs. It has been clinically tested in Korea, and Europe through the Dermatest agency and has been approved as a cosmetic ingredient for the EU and UK. Previously, articles in the Korean press announced that CosmeRNA would be released through Amazon Europe in April 2023. Now, as we near the end of April, many spectators are wondering where the news of the CosmeRNA launch is. In an article published April 21, 2023 through the Pharm Edaily news outlet, Han-oh Park, CEO of Bioneer, stated that his “depilatory cosmetic launches next month.” (*Note the word depilatory is simply taken from the google translation and would be better stated as anti-depilatory.)  That would effectively put the release date of CosmeRNA to be sometime in May 2023. Park was also quoted to say he expects 100 million people to use his product, i.e. CosmeRNA. The CosmeRNA team has been predicting a H1 2023 release for about a year, so imminent release seems probable. The difference of rescheduling a release from April to May could easily be explained by common delays or tasks taking slightly longer than expected. Another subject which has been discussed online is the potential price of CosmeRNA. While I do not know the planned price, I would suggest considering the price of other competing hair growth serums on the market. One serum which uses an AI-discovered molecule in its formula is retailing currently for $98. It is possible that due to a more complex manufacturing process that CosmeRNA is more expensive to produce than that serum. Soon enough, we should hopefully seeing a listing on Amazon Europe or an E-commerce website which lists CosmeRNA available for sale.
