Dr. Tsuji Announces New Hair Care Line KASUI
Through a joint research project with Adjuvant Cosmetics of Japan, Dr. Takashi Tsuji of the Riken Institute has brought forth a new line of hair care products featuring a “hair growth promoting” peptide.
The launch of “Kasui”, a Japanese hair care brand, was announced March 3, 2021 by the social-media maven himself, Dr. Takashi Tsuji. Apparently, the official press release for the launch has been on the Japanese version of the Riken website since February 26, 2021 unbeknown to many. Translated into English, the title of the press release reads “Discovered the hair growth promoting effect of functional peptides -Applicability to new hair growth products and scalp care products-.” The PR mentions that research done by Tsuji’s lab in pursuit of new hair growth ingredients lead to the discovery of “functional peptide A” which “grows hair in the same manner as minoxidil” and “induces the expression of genes for physiologically active substances related to hair growth in hair papilla cells that control hair growth.” We received a “heads-up” about Dr. Tsuji developing cosmetic hair growth ingredients from our Youtubing friend Youngjet back in August 2020. It’s now been confirmed, the rumors are true.
KASUI Essence
The Kasui brand is launching with 3 products in its lineup; a shampoo, a scalp treatment, and an essence. According to the company’s FAQ page, only the Kasui Essence product contains the functional peptide A which promotes hair growth. The other products are said to clean the scalp and support the penetration of the functional peptide. It is also revealed in the FAQ page that this peptide was not solely discovered in Dr. Tsuji’s lab, it was actually a known peptide, but its hair growth promoting effect was discovered in the Tsuji lab.
So, what to think at the moment? It’s an interesting development to hear that a respected researcher like Dr. Tsuji is putting his name behind a cosmetic hair growth ingredient, but, its best to keep expectations grounded for now. We must remember this product (as far as I can tell) has only been tested on human tissue in a laboratory setting, I do not see evidence of a human pilot study yet as there are no before-and-after photos available. It’s also important to remember that this product is being compared to minoxidil, which can be considered a mild to moderate hair growth stimulant. Likely, the product will be used by local Japanese consumers for several months until it becomes more accessible to outside territories. The FAQ page also mentions that the Kasui line does not contain any preservatives and this is a reason why the products are not being distributed en masse to the public. At this time, it appears that the products will be distributed through hair salons or clinics Japan.

Tsuji is quite active these days.
Is anyone interested to try this essence product?
It’s also very important to note here that once again this is a product that promotes hair GROWTH. It does not STOP the underlying cause/s of hair loss. Therefore, just like any solution that attempts to grow hair without first diagnosing and treating the root cause it will be ineffective long term. Why? Think of your hair like grass with beetles that are eating away at the roots. This and other growth treatments like PRP, minoxidil and others are like fertilizer which encourage growth. However at some point the beetles will completely eat away the entire root system and the grass will eventually die. The cause of hair loss is internal. We need to diagnose and treat that internal cause before ANY treatment will be successful.
“We need to diagnose and treat that internal cause before ANY treatment will be successful.”
You are so completely right. I think it should be a genetic cure.
It has to be genes and the genes have to be fixed before any treatment will work. Hair cloning will likely fail for most for the same reason the most ppl lose their hair in the first place and lose their hair from transplants: the environment i.e. the skin is still signaling to the hair that it’s not suppose to be there.
There’s still a long road ahead.
I’m cautiously optimistic despite this. Investors are not always ideal. Just because an individual or a venture capital fund has money, it doesn’t mean they will be a good business partner. The soul purpose of VC funds are to make profit. Perhaps that doesn’t align with Tsuji’s vision. Amazon started by selling books even though books were far from their end game. Sometimes you just need a cash cow to fund the real project. But then again, perhaps I’m wrong and Tsuji does want VC funds despite the cost but the cloning just doesn’t work. Hopefully these products produce good enough results to both fund his clinical trials quickly and not tarnish his reputation. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
Hello, I really want to know the price of this product. I am a Chinese consumer, so the first consideration must be the price. The effect of the product is currently unknown. It is better to look forward to it now.
matt , do you think hairclone dp cell injection will completely stop futher hair like finasteride and more effective treatment than finasteride ? .
How do we get these products?
I am interested in trying out this new product to regrow new hair.
Definitely. Although I expect it to be priced well out of our reach. After all, he is in the process of fund raising…
Admin, is this product already on market in Japan? Also, I don’t have very strong faith on this product as it didn’t have any clear evidence that it will work on human. But I will assume it might be a way for Dr.Tsuji to raise money for hair clone human clinical trials, which is a good sign though.
I’d definitely be willing to spend however much it is just to give it a shot. Side effects are such a big deal to me, that having possible treatment with a peptide would be worth it to try, no matter the potential price point
If it compares to minoxydl forget it minoxydl doesn’t work worth a damn!!
i’m not interested in trying this lol. Tsuji and the team need to really get aggressive with finding a partner for hair cloning i hope they have been in closed door discussions recently with big companies to partner with them. They need to move quicker
How is this any different than the brotzu lotion that was hyped up? Another well respected person who put his name on a product.
To be honest, I feel like this is more of a give a way that nothing material will come from him.
Maybe this is the way how he raise funds
So now we have to wait for consumer feedback on specific effects
Thank you for sharing this. Sadly, we know what to expect from products distributed through hair salons…
It reminds me of Celino 🙁
I will stick to TH18.
I agree with the general consensus here in the comments section. We all agreed in the last as well that the product that Dr Tsuji would be launching which would be similar to Minoxidil would be a total waste of money.
Its probably going to be the equivalent of Minoxidil (which doesn’t work for most people) just prices wayyyy more expensive. By the look of the bottle alone you can tell their going to price it high.
Also, the fact that there’s no data, no trial results, no before and after photo’s AND it’s going to be distributed via salons, is all the red flags you need and more to tell anyone with a fraction of common sense and reasoning ability to stay far away from it.
Just because Dr Tsuji has his name behind the product doesn’t mean anything. If anything, it looks bad for Dr Tsuji to be promoting a product that’s only about the equivalent to Minoxidil, when Minoxidil has already been around for almost 30 years and Tsuji has been in the hair loss industry for decades, we expected more.
I do understand it’s possibly a way of fund raising for his main treatment, but this isn’t the way. Selling overpriced Minoxidil in a fancy bottle in salons with no data or pictures is scammish.
i’m hoping this product performs well because if it doesn’t, then unfortunately he’s only going to be making a bad name for himself which may, in turn, be detrimental to gaining support for his hair clone human trial funding
@Admin can you please write the prices of the products in the comments? I think my translater must be broken when I see they want 3,800.- USD for a shampoo. But at the end I wouldnt be surprised after Tsuji already said 300,000.- USD for the cloning thing. … And then in best case it is as good as Minox. I am out!
But this is unavailable outside Japan, right?
No one else finds it discouraging that the guy who supposedly discovered how to clone hair follicles is making a product on par with minoxidil? Why would we need minoxidil if we can clone hair? This doesn’t make me feel good about Tsuji at all. I don’t see how this is a good thing.
Not at all, it’s expected to have byproducts from your research. Hans Clevers, a famous stem cell researcher, mentioned that in many cases they don’t even work with a hypothesis anymore. They just look what is happening in their experiments and go from there. So if you find something interesting you might as well make a product out of it next to your main research.
That’s fair. I just figured it was an obvious question that a lot of people would have. I guess people would still use maintenance drugs even if cloning is achieved. I really hope his cloning treatment works, even if it is super expensive at first. Just knowing that the technology is there would be incredible and would ease a lot of people’s minds. I really hope he’s successful but I’m not holding my breath.
This is a good explanation Maker.
If it works and doesn’t cost $89.99 for a bottle I’m down I just fear it is more crap that we can already waste our money on.
I’d also like to say in regard to cloning that implanting of any hairs whether it be your own natural hairs relocated or cloned hairs planted in – it is not possible for them to be planted as close together as they grow naturally. Each follicle has its own blood supply network that must be transplanted with it. Think of a tree with roots. In order to do that you have to cut a big enough hole in the new location to put that in. Which means you cannot plant them too close together without damaging each other too much and not allowing them to take. The only real way to treat hair loss is to treat the real root underlying cause and STOP it, then you can use hair growth serums and other factors to help with the regrowth, but first you have to understand and treat the real underlying cause. And not just DHT at the scalp, think further – what causes that? Over-active 5-alpha reductase right – so what causes that? I don’t understand why everyone wants to just jump to bandaiding symptoms instead of understanding what and why this is actually happening inside the body.
That’s basically correct, but the thing is that StemsonTx does not implant hairs/follicles.
They implant very thin biodegradable tubes (0,1 – 0,3 mm width) which will dissolve after a couple of days. They hold the cell-culture which will form the follicles.
It‘s a very smart principle which will make a much higher density (compared to traditional transplants) possible. The follicles will naturally grow into the bloodstream. I think that’s far superior to everything that’s been done so far.
RIKEN is supposed to be even better, because they inject a „fluid“ which contains the cells and they will distribute evenly. That’s what I understand as per their last paper. But admittedly I don’t fully understand their newest concept – I am a little doubtful it will work out the way they would like to, because it sounds too good to be true.
@Tracey Bowyer: think of it as not a tree (as you mentioned) but as a seed which will become a tree.
Great analogy by the way.
@Tracey Bowyer
I forgot a very big advantage of Stemson: there is NO extracting and relocation.
It‘s neogenesis of hair with only location. You end up with more hair than before.
http://getclickeddemo.cloudaccess.host/trials
Triple hair trials . Can’t figure out
Maybe you guys seen it
That website isnt even complete. getclickdemo is the website builder. This is a demo site not even live. Could just be whoever is building the demo site is interested in hairloss and made this up.
Oh tsuji…… following the brotzu path to make a quick buck. Whatever respect I had for his business just went out the window. I thought he would be our generation game changer yet he wants to release a topical with no clinical data just fund his failing cloning business. I will tell you one thing…if he actually has a legit working cloning treatment he would have investors calling him non stop. This is not the case. We expect robust regrowth from a strong hair cloning leader these past few years. He better surprise us with some good results with this topical or else he will lose credibility….
The large bottle of essence (80 ml) appears to be priced around $48
So basically it’s just an overpriced Minoxidil in a fancy bottle. Almost twice the price of Minoxidil 5%
Maybe this is what he meant by releasing a product by 2020. You guys thought it was cloning but it’s this super duper line of concoctions that Tsuji meant. Since it’s only available in Japan at the present then all you guys that were saving up for a trip to Japan for the cure here ya go! 🙁
Sorry to be negative Admin, but this is a load of crap. One hype after another with this esteemed researcher, he’s basically a marketing machine. First his funding goes tits up, if he had something do think he’s have to pass the hat on the internet? His potions might have some minor benefit, so does PRP, lasers, all kinds of cosmetic treatments. Just because a hype man slaps his name on it doesn’t mean it’s worth anything and certainly not what this will most probably sell for. Guys, do yourself a favor and find a new hair loss god to worship.
Well Yoda, I fully agree…
this is so disappointing. I am reading hee for at least 3 years and to be honest, it’s getting more and more frustrating. Nothing is working or lets say the trial results are a joke, everything gets delayed or cancelled.
Since I don’t want to f up my hormones with fina, there is basically nothing I can do.
I guess mankind will be on Mars before we are able to do somthing about hairloss… thats actually insane.
Thank you Yoda. Well said! If a company has a cure like cloning they dont set up a go fund me page haha.
Isn’t yoda the same guy who bashed me for calling out histogen on being scam? Be happy something is coming out he said. But now that it is about tsuji to launch a cosmetic product, being trasparent about it, and admitting it has minoxidil-like efficacy and not pretending to be the cure itself like the histogen guys did, he’s a scammer?
They just published the most advanced paper regarding hair cloning, i don’t know where the hate comes from but i can denifetely feel it :).
Tsuji gives me hope I will not have to gamble with my health and use some edgy drug cocktail to keep my head, that’s enough for me so far
Uh Shu, Histogen is in clinical trials on human beings. I think “bashed” is a strong word and I never said Histogen is “coming out”, I have no idea. If you feel so strongly about Tsuji and have your hopes pinned on his success you should definitely buy the products that he’s hawking and consider donating your hard earned dough to his public funding drive. As far as I know Histogen hasn’t asked the general public to fund their research, clinical trials, etc. Hope is a good thing, blind allegiance is not.
Yikes, this is pretty embarrassing. What a low to sink to. I thought the Japanese were honourable people.
Yeah, after all these red flags I’m no longer trusting Dr Tsuji. My hopes for a cure are now only with Stemson.
Who knows how many years it will be for Stemson to develop a real hair clone, they seem haven’t even started pre-clinical trail.
I wasn’t trolling, and we ‘cracked the code’
So you found the cure for hair loss then? That’s what you said in your post. Let’s throw a parade!
Actually Dr Nettles at Stop and Regrow has cracked the code and is regrowing hair right across the US and on 6 continents now too.
Tracey, please refrain from promoting your business in the comments section.
Yes sorry about that – I promise not to do it again.
It is very frustrating though that you publish all these posts about treatments that “may” at some point in the far distant future “potentially” become a treatment when there is actually a real treatment that does work available – yet no-one wants to talk about it. One would think that there is a conspiracy by big pharma and researchers who believe they can make billions of dollars – Ds Tsuji included – from treatments that don’t actually work who are trying to stifle the message of a treatment that does really work to stop hair loss and regrow hair. It will not grow hair on a bald head, the follicles still have to be alive, but as long as there is at least peach fuzz, it can be regrown.
Thank you, also just FYI, including your businesses link in the comment is also considered spam and requested to cease.
I’m sorry you find the content unfulfilling here, I suppose you could start your own blog and show the world the potential of your clinic’s treatment as a solution for that.
FYI Shu’s post was not deleted, it triggered the temporary approve/delete comment moderation and is not visible until it gets manually approved.. The comment is there.
This explains why Tsuji popped up with a pieced together report a few weeks back… only reason he popped back on the radar was to eventually promote this garbage. Prolactin receptor inhibition is the best new angle we have based on actual research by Bayer on Monkeys which is 10000% better than mice; the same monkeys Minoxidil worked on…
Your theory on why the good Dr. popped up sounds plausible B&D, he’s a marketing machine.
So looks like everyone despaired about Dr.tsuji and his hair colonist job?
Sorry, there is a type. #hair clone
It seems the verdict is in and people are not happy about Dr. Tsuji putting this out there.
I am actually still cautiously optimistic,if this product can help dr.tsuji raise fund to start his human clinical trial, then I wish this product become popular on market.
Popular to raise funds for his cloning unicorn? Even if it turns out that it doesn’t do much of anything? Interesting logic.
Admin, Tsuji is guilty until proven innocent.
May not work in court but can be successful in personal decision making.
What are the facts at this point in time:
No independent study.
No legit pictures..with legit I mean real pictures across a random sample of study participants.
I would not even buy a used bicycle from this guy.
Hahahaha MRKA, but it has Tsuji’s name on it and maybe even YoungJet’s personal endorsement. What else does one need? 😉
My bad admin, sorry. Anyways regarding tsuji’s products I’m obviously not enthusiastic about these cosmetics, but around one year ago when these products were announced I was whining on this forum ( bad days happen ), and I said how can we expect these guys to cure hair loss if they plan to release cosmetics? And admin wisely told me that people will always need something to fight hair loss at its early stages. And now we might have one more weapon against early stages of thinning, especially those who can’t use minoxidil
Shu, you may be able to use minoxidil just not off the shelf rogaine, etc. Not sure what your codition is that precludes you from using it. There are alternatives to the well known topicals, research and you will find more choices.
What a joke. Another snake oil that won’t really help people who have severe hair loss. I’ve had two hair transplants in Turkey totaling 5,600 grafts and I still don’t even have enough hair for it to look acceptable. I check back here every 6 months or so and it’s just one failure after another. At this rare, I’ve given up all hope.
When you still have a decent amount of hair, you can consider to have a galeatomy. After reading about it and some hesitation, I had the surgery done in 2009 and it really worked well for about 7 years, after that the results started to fade away.
The year is 2021. We’ve put another robot on Mars, this time with a mini nuclear reactor in it and a drone attached. We’ve developed a vaccine for a new disease in less than a year.
And the best new thing we get for hairloss is a shampoo and some essence…
On Mane Biotech LinkedIn account has an update about their app as usual they’re thrilled ,nothing more .They definitely bring some thing fruitful
I just did some research and downloaded their app. If you go through the FAQ section, it sadly says that they are aiming to release their device commercially by 2023, hence at least some more waiting is necessary to see what they have in store for us. I wish ManeBiotech themselves or someone from the trial group that already tested the helmet would leak some information about the device And it’s efficiency to know if we should look forward to this at all. I mean on the one side the product seems like a great new approach but on the other side it’s so suspicious that they haven’t released any data yet
Thanks Marc, I thought it’s coming early next year. From the beginning they are saying Market Ready device
I don’t understand what is ready?
Pre COVID-19 article said that UW device will be ready in 6 months so we will see that well before ManeBiotech
Marc, how did you find the app?
By the way, I’m in touch with the Mane guys and they are putting real effort into the development of their device. This is of the course one of the foremost reasons it is not already pushed onto the market as a money-maker. It’s a given that they will need to prove things, but I’m optimistic about them.
This is encouraging. I don’t know why I’m hopeful about this method and not others. Humans are so irrational.
If you Go to ManeBiotechs LinkedIn Profile you can find a post about the app which contains a link, one for IOS and one for android. If you choose to click the link you will be directed towards the two apps which are necessary to run the whole thing on your device (may sound more difficult than it actually is).
What I actually like is that the app contains a feature, that you can keep track of your progress with selfies. The possibility to keep track of the progress gives me a little hope that this actually works.
Btw great to hear you are in touch with them! Do you know if they need financial support or anything because of corona?
Thanks for sharing Marc, yes Mane Biotech could use some financial support at the moment, do you happen to know anyone who would invest in them? (as an accredited investor $50k or greater)
I don’t see this a opportunity by Dr. Tsuji to make a quick buck. Dr. Tsuji doesn’t posses enough clout to generate a lot money from promoting this product. Your average reader of hair loss sites who’s even heard of Dr. Tsuji, wont be willing to pay that much for a product that hasn’t underdone clinical trials or cant show decent results to the naked eye. I suspect the reason that he’s released this product is to put it on his resume that he has actually had his RESEARCH DEVELOPED INTO PRODUCTS. This will increase the likelihood of companies wanting to invest in him to develop his labs hair cloning research. I understand the pessimism in the comments but let’s not cancel Dr Tsuji just yet.
@Follicle Thought, Thank you for putting together this blog. Although it is my first time commenting, I have been following for a short while. I just wanted to ask if there is any update on Insilico Medicine’s hair loss drug, as in your 23rd September article it said that they were hoping to start Phase 1 trials by the end of 2020? Thanks.
Thank you – no update at the moment but working on it before summer!
It’s funny, Yoda used to read hair forums with great interest. I’m referring to the websites that have been around for many, many years, not to this great site Joseph is running. It used to take me quite a while to catch up daily on what the various posters were saying about current and future treatments. Now I find very little, if any valuable, interesting info. I breeze through quickly and sometimes ask myself why I even look. Besides irrelevant posts, there is really nothing noteworthy. Guess that’s why sometimes admin limits “chatter”, even Yoda’s! 😉 And reinforces that when readers of this site bitch that Admin has no new news that’s because there isn’t any. I remember that Fuji cat from Japan saying that hair “forums” had dies out in his country, blogs (like this one) were more popular. Can’t remember the reason, however it appears that the US is catching up. Although the Admin and Yoda don’t always agree, your work is appreciated and a more valuable conduit of relevant, important information.
Hey, I appreciate that Yoda thanks! Yes, at Follicle Thought we try to stay on point and keep the atmosphere at room temp. 😉 I appreciate you Yoda, glad you’re a good sport and keep those follicles flowing.
@Admin, there is an interview with Dr.Tsuji updated on YouTube. I think you guys will have interest on it.
Thanks Tshitou, however, the video you shared is just the reading of questions without any answers. I don’t expect much to come from this interview at Tsuji doesn’t really have any news to share at the moment. I’m also not a fan of that channel and removed the link because that guy has ripped off a lot of content from Follicle Thought in the past and never cited me even after I repeatedly commented and told him to stop/or cite me. Sorry, but I just can’t promote him. No one’s missing anything I’m sure.
@Admin, totally understood. It’s ok, I was just thinking that video would be a direct conversation between Dr.Tsuji and that guy. Yet then I realized it was just a pre-talk. Hopefully we will hear really meaningful update from Dr.Tsuji soon.
Looking forward to a HairClone update!
Nothing new but in case this particular group of researchers has not been indicated here is a link to the latest on functional follicle regeneration:
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41392-020-00441-y
Thanks Anthony!
It’s a shame in 2021 not knowing Why does dihydrotestosterone only attack hair follicles on the head? Even if DHT is sensitive, what is the cause of it in the hair follicles only?
Yes not much research is going on about that, someone needs to address this.
I agree with your sentiment Ahmed. Imagine being a teen and loosing hair before any real treatments were available (pre fin/min) and transplants were of the plug variety. That’s why Yoda counts his blessings (instead of hair on the shower drain) that we have what we have and has hope for the future, however long off that it may be.
Yoda
Hope is long. We want effective treatment as soon as possible. Baldness is not a disease but a disorder; Quite simply, we want to fix the defect. Are scientists and doctors unable to do this !!!!
Oh great, when you click on Tracey’s name it takes you to the esteemed Dr. Nettles site where you can “stop and grow”. Admin, really?? I’m not saying I know this is snake oil for sure but I do know a snake when I smell one. If I had more interest I’d research it, however as other’s have said about other dubious treatments…if this was all that great we’d surely have heard about it by now, media, key opinion leaders, clinical experts, etc.
@FollicleThought do you have any good news coming up?
A new article by the end of the week.
@FollicleThought do you have any further update on HairClone and if they will be starting procedures in the UK this year?
Also just a follow-up question, when do you think hair rejuvenation and then hair regeneration will be possible in terms of rough timelines. It just looks like there isn’t really any hope…
I was hoping to undertake the Regenera Activa treatment but I’m not sure so any advice on this would be helpful!
Will get you a HairClone update sometime this month.
https://www.hilarispublisher.com/open-access/a-comparative-study-between-topical-5-minoxidil-and-topical-redensyl-capixyl-and-procapil-combination-in-men-with-androg.pdf
Came across this, what is your opinion on this @FollicleThought?
I use a product by a company called “The Ordinary” that has these ingredients. Not sure on percentages. I’d say it does very little to nothing to stop loss or provide regrowth, does help to foster a healthy scalp environment, e.g. helps (not cures) with itching, inflammation.
Okay, at first glance I find this treatment to be reasonable because of its ingredients, I believe it contains EGCG which is a cool ingredient and all of the other ingredients show at least weak hair growth effect in studies. It may be worth a try if you’re willing to give it a chance without expectations.
[News surfaces of a hairloss treatment which might result in a statistical haircount improvement if the user rubs lotion on their head twice a day]
“Oh! This could be exciting!
[News surfaces of a new hairloss product which might have benefitted from Tsuji’s ongoing research]
“Well this will be terrible. What a cashgrab. So disappointing.”
Well that’s human for you,for NW 1-2 great news, for NW3+ its hair clone or nothing.
In all seriousness, I’m skeptical but I might give it a try.
Has anyone looked into a combination of Redensyl, Capixyl, and Procapil?
See my comments above Paul. The one I use is cheap, I may discontinue though, trying to simplify my regime.
Okay, so unfortunately Tracey was unable to keep her self-promotion and unprofessional accusations out the comments. Therefore, that’s the end of that. I did ask Tracey to stop entering her company link in the comment as it is considered intentional spam. Please Tracey, no more commenting on this website, thank you.
ok sorry i didnt realize that the website even shows on the post. I wont enter it anymore.
Sorry Tracey, you’ve worn out your welcome here. Please show more respect for an administrator and his website in the future. Best wishes.
FT, why does Dr. Rassman hairy nevus treatment have to go through FDA trials when exosomes injection treatment or prp doesn’t have to?
PRP is considered a homogeneous treatment which means it comes out of your body and then is put back into it without manipulation (e.g. multiplying the cells or adding chemicals to them). These types of treatments are usually well accepted by the FDA. Exosomes is heterogenic as it is from a human to another and to be honest I believe it is not supposed to be allowed to be injected according to the FDA but many clinics still do it. I am not sure what Dr. Rassman’s treatment encompasses as they have not disclosed it publicly.
Hello I have q question, have you guys heard oc DS Laboratories Nanoxidil product yeah some sort of new minoxidil and it has a lot of good ingredients, and apparently also works on the hairline. Their shampoos have some sort of liposome technology which i find intriguing if it actually works any opinions or thoughts on this?
Legitimate pictures and independent scientific study available?
Otherwise extremely likely that it is crap.
They just cannot do it. Scientists are just not smart enough.
Going to mars, yes.
Fixing DHT at route level without crazy side effects coming from the poison pill propecia/finasteride NO, it is too much ..
They have failed again.
Forget it.
Or get tits, lose my dick function and go insane OR have hair ..
Keep the hope up Prof, jumping to conclusions does not typically help anyone. Tsuji is still going.
Only hope we have is breezula, NOTHING else at this moment ..
Can anyone personally attest to getting better results with DUT over FIN?
I can attest to better Dut vs Fin results with my particular situation Scottie. I was on fin successfully for over 20 years. It started to loose it’s effectiveness and switched to Dut. It stopped the increasing loss and got it under control again. However, Dut on itself will not grow/thicken miniaturizing follicles. I had to try some other treatments to finally get the ground back that I lost…and by that reverse a few years of loss not bring me back to my 18 yo hairline. Hope that helps, good luck!
Thanks Yoda. Thanks to internet cookies I’ve been seeing a lot of ads for Dutasteride topicals. Supposed to circumvent systemic side effects, although being a large molecule tends to sit on scalp, best described as “greasy”. Not sure if it’s snake oil or not…
Hey Scottie, at some point I’ll be testing topical dut to see if I can ween myself off of oral. I haven’t had/don’t have sides to speak of. Although I have some brain fog, not sure that it’s related but would like to see if topical can more or less replace. I have the topical dut in my possession, just pondering the right moment to switch. I use a topical minox that has dut in it at a low % I think .01% the topical dut is .05%. I probably would continue to take oral once a week. I’ll let the forum know when I start to switch and keep everyone posted.
Well I’ll take a cole slaw and cajun fries for sides please 🙂 So Yoda I took the plunge and bought a DUT topical from UK called RGrowth D-5A. Kinda pricey but dang do they ship fast! I’m hoping to fill in on the crown, so I’ll post updates as well.
Best wishes on your new regimen Scottie.
Hang in there everyone, I know we’re all looking for more positive concrete news to come out as well. This year has the potential to bring that news. I should have a Hairclone update soon (remember they should be on track to start offering DP cells to doctors in the UK this year) and there are some new companies coming onto the scene as well (early stage).
Admin..you are positive indeed. TH18, Mane should help..at least for easy maintenance.
Am still optimistic about Follicas technology and procedure….just the delays are irritating a lot.
But it could be Covid19 related…
Sorry to say , it seems to be Mane biotech CTO and cofounder Samuel Jellard left Mane
It could be wrong if it’s right something is wrong
Thanks for sharing Kapil, how did you come to find this? Linkedin? I tried to visit his page but could not see the page completely.
Yes you are right When i checked Carlos’s LinkedIn page their employees no gone down to one then I checked Samuel Jellard’s Linkedin then it became clear , if it’s true Bad news very bad news
Thanks Admin…you are the Walter Cronkite of hair loss news! 🙂
Thanks Yoda ?
I for one will be trying the hairclone treatment when it is hopefully rmade available this year.
Don’t quit your day job Scottie! 🙂 That’s the same brand Yoda has, as related haven’t started to use it yet. I do use their 7% minox with a lower % of Dut, Yoda is attacking hair loss from multiple fronts so not sure how effective it’s been.
Off topic but I wondered if anyone had any theories on whether iontophoresis would work for MPB?
I have been using it for some time now to combat excess sweating, it is truly remarkable. The fact that it’s successful in combating excess sweating and that it was discovered fairly recently almost by accident tells me that something like this may well work for hairloss.
It is still not fully understood as to why it works for excess sweating, but has replaced botox as the go to cure. Some say that botox can work well on slowing down MPB.
I am thinking of using myself as a guinea pig as I have an iontophoresis machine at home. There are a few pubmed links claiming that using iontophoresis with minoxidil improved the absorption and healing time after rather than just using Minoxidil on its own.
I am wondering if there are any bigger scientific brains out there that may have some theories and advice on how I should go about testing this.
I am planning to put my head in the iontophoresis machine every evening for 15 minutes and then I will apply minoxidil afterwards. I will take photos along the way to document any hair density.
I have also just ordered some Eucapil, should I use this with the regime? I guess then it would not be a fair assessment as to whether the iontophoresis works?
Admin…it has been rather silent on AB-103.
I am also wondering what the details of the study are where Goren was a coauthor.
The study that shows that microneedling improves efficacy of minox.
Somewhat surprising that he wants to sell his product and at the same time highlights an alternative procedure to AB-103.
Does somebody know details of the study from last year?
Hi Admin,
Did you ever cover this?……..

I can’t seem to find a date as to when the study was conducted. But I think it was post 2018. They seem to have gone quiet on furthering the study though, perhaps the improvements weren’t significant enough after 6 months (the length of the trial).
I did not see this Bearly, I will take a further look at it when I have a moment. Thanks for sharing.
I remember back in 2017 USC and UCLA both had some breakthrough headlines about stem cell hair cloning. I even tracked down and emailed one of the lead Doctors asking to be included in any of the trials and he said he would add me to the list. It really got my hopes up. And then I never heard about it ever again.
Zandir, are you referring to the research by Dr. Lowry which led to Pelage Pharmaceuticals? Please share which one you’re talking about.
This comment is pure speculation, but do you guys think we might be closer to gene therapies than we are to hair cloning? the whole hair cloning technology seems more sci – fi than the gene therapies, and the first is moving so slow while the latter seems to be an unstoppable force.
It’s the first time that the barrier language made me feel like words failed me, I hope the meaning is clear enough tho.
Shu, I think the gene therapy for hair lose is somewhat similar to a therapy to make an individual grow taller after he became an adult, which involves really complicated gene edition. And that is even more like a scientific fiction compared to hair cloning. At least we know some researches have already done lots of work on cloning while gene therapy or gene edition are rarely talked.
tshitou you can get cosmetic limb height surgery doesn’t involve anything with genes lol
I believe it may be kinda 50/50 at this point for whether gene therapy or hair cloning is furthest along developed. Hair cloning seems to be attempted for a longer period of time, but gene therapy may actually be more practical to put into consecutive clinical trials first, we will have to see in time. I do like what Moogene is doing at the moment.
Oh yes it looks like the UCLA program was Dr. Lowry, thank you for the info.
The USC research was with Cheng-Ming Chuong, MD, PhD who I had corresponded with. But I haven’t heard any updates since 2017 from him.
matt , what you think about hairclone dermal papila injections . is this treatment going to stop hair loss completely ?
