Histogen Begins Late Stage Trial In Mexico
More news of progress is coming from Histogen and it’s going to raise a few eyebrows. This time, founder Gail Naughton gives details about the HSC660 trial in women and a late stage trial for men in Mexico.
While browsing an article featuring Histogen on the San Diego Union Tribune website, I discovered some new info about the recently announced HSC660 female hair loss trial. Gail Naughton, founder of Histogen, told the Tribune the trial will run for 22 weeks (5.5 months) and that the results will be known before this year’s end. It’s not clear if Histogen will announce the results by the end of the year, but having the results in hand by the end of the year should be useful for the company’s further development strategy.
The images above were featured in the Tribune article. The caption below the photos reads “Result from a trial of Histogen’s treatment, by an independent researcher. The woman got 40 injections of the hair-regrowth product.” They appear to be alternate angles of the famed ‘female temple’ photos that have been shared online for several years.
Major Details
As I read further in the story, I did not expect the monumental news that would come to be found.
Here are the important quotes from the San Diego Union Tribune article published July 12, 2018:
“Privately held Histogen is in more advanced testing of an earlier version of HSC660 in men.”
“A late-stage or Phase 3 trial for men has begun in Mexico, Naughton said. Anticipating success, the company is looking toward commercialization.”
“We’re in very late-stage negotiations with some huge retail partners,” Naughton said. A deal should be concluded in the next few months, she said.”
After quotes like that, there’s not too much left for me to say. Let the games begin.

Very exciting stuff. Does this change your ultimate guide to hair loss and when would be your guess as to when this could be released pending positive results by years end??
Thanks for the updates.
The Ultimate Guide may change in the upcoming weeks. But I will not make any guesses about a Histogen release.
We have male photo, please !

According to Spencer Kobren and Joe Tillman, the male picture os actually a haor transplant before and after.
Where was this stated?
The article came out on my birthday, what a wonderful present!
Happy Birthday! Mine’s on the 20th, an early one for me. I’ve been following these guys for nearly a decade, and I must confess, I had them pegged for the ash heap of history. Happy to be proven wrong.
Would product release be for male only or is product for male and female. Thank you!
There is no official announcement at this time, but I can’t imagine why it would not be allowed for use on women as well, potentially “off label.”
Great news indeed..Hopefully others will be quick to compete to bring product to market quicker.
Hello Admin,
Have you ever read something about expected costs for this treatment? Even if it’s not official. If not, what would your guess be?
Sorry I really have no guess about that.
Hello admin.Do you think it will only be in Mexico to get treatment or also U.S. too
Fantastic news, I too had forgotten histogen, but I’d rather go to Mexico than Japan now and tie it in with a vacation! great stuff.
Any news on the Histogen Front? Would love to read an interview with Dr Gail Naughton if you could snag her.
I’d recommend sending them an email and request an interview with FollicleThought.com! Truthfully, companies listen to this feedback most of the time.
