Life Code AI & Aranda Pharma: New Companies Q1 2022
Here are two new additions to the ever-growing list of companies working on new therapeutic treatments for baldness or androgenetic alopecia.
Life Code – An Artificial Intelligence Wellness Company
Life Code is an early stage biotech company which is developing therapies with the assistance of artificial intelligence. The company is based in Hong Kong and utilizes an AI platform called PetaPoly 1.0 to analyze biological pathways and discover therapeutic molecules. Life Code’s website describes PetaPoly 1.0 as “an unprecedented combination of Petabytes and Polypharmacology. AI assisted Health Supplement/ Drug Discovery, Designing and Development using Polypharmacology and Combination Therapy Approach.” Sounds complicated. But in any event, it sounds interesting, and we are fortunate that hair growth is on the radar of Life Code.
Within the pipeline section of Life Code’s site is a listing titled “Hair Care for Androgenetic Alopecia.” The page mentions the typical statistics of how common AGA is among men and women, but does not share details about Life Code’s therapy in development. It’s unclear at this time whether Life Code is developing cosmeceuticals or drugs for AGA, or potentially both. The Life Code pipeline also lists indications such as cancer and vaccines, so clearly there is a lot of high-level research going on at the company.
Aranda Pharma – ADA-308
Aranda Pharma is another early stage biotech company and they are based in Finland. The company’s main asset is an androgen receptor inhibitor called ADA-308. According to Aranda Pharma’s website, ADA-308 was originally designed to overcome treatment-resistant prostate cancer.
As you can see, Aranda is currently exploring programs for both acne and pattern hair loss which is a common theme for androgen receptor-based drugs. The R&D page on Aranda’s site mentions anecdotes about advantageous properties of the AR-308 molecule including solubility and a lack of systemic effects. Undoubtedly, the progression of Aranda’s hair program will depend on its ability to gain a strategic partner or major investment. One positive sign is a grant which Aranda received from the Finnish government in February 2021.
We hope to hear news of progress and additional information from both of these interesting companies in the coming months.

The idea of using AI to find hair growth promoting molecules is very intriguing to me. I’m looking forward to any new information from Life Code in particular.
I also want to take a moment to thank all of the people who contribue to Follicle Thought on Patreon. Your support is appreciated!
Admin, why are posts turned off for the Reviv post? I am outside the US and was wanting to ask if there was anyone willing to help me with the shipping so I could try out the product. Thx
Marcus, there should be a new data piece from Dr. R’s office soon which will open the comments back up. Sit tight.
Life code is similar to Insilico medicine, isn’t it admin? I just hope they don’t vanish like insilico did.
That’s right Shayak, similar to Insilico but Life Code may be actually trying to produce their own research. It’s early yet. And we never know when Insilico may drop some news.
Insilico didn’t vanish, they have a fibrosis drug developed by AI entering human trials
This could potentially reverse hair follicle fibrosis as well I’m guessing
Hey is there any update from Xudong wang’s hair cap?
Not at the moment Rahul, other than the mention in a recent article. Will share if one comes along. Thanks
Hey FT 2 quick questions, do you think there will be a treatment for grey hair within the next 8-10 years? And do you think we will get some type of update from DNovo this year? Thanks
Yoyo, I think it’s possible for the Grey hair treatment because there are likely a few labs working on it quietly. And you know the situation, not guaranteed.
I think by the end of the year yes there should be an update, even if on the smaller side.
Is binding affinity for ADA-308 already known?
I don’t believe so…I haven’t done too much digging on it at this point. Someone else may though.
brilliant as always
thanks admin
You got it, dig.
Baricitinib Produces Significant Hair Regrowth in Adults With Severe Alopecia Areata
March 28, 2022
Baricitinib (Olumiant; Eli Lilly and Incyte ) was found to produce significant hair regrowth on the scalp, eyelashes, and eyebrows of adults with severe alopecia areata.
Treatment with baricitinib (Olumiant; Eli Lilly and Incyte ) was found to produce significant hair regrowth on the scalp, eyelashes, and eyebrows of adults with severe alopecia areata (AA). Further, approximately 75% of individuals administered baricitinib 4 mg experienced 90% scalp coverage at 52 weeks, according to the study, the results of which were presented at the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Annual Meeting

Chris rock made fun of jade suffering from alopecia and people sympathising with chris rock.such a disheartening thing.its jade who is the victim of the incident not him. In fact , wills retaliated rightly.baldness hurts be it man or woman.and its high time people should be aware of it and realise it affects on its patients.
That’s not a good reason to punch or slap someone. We can chose to be human instead of being animals.
I agree Shia. Will was out of line. Any joke about someone else hair loss is a low blow but resorting to violence is never the answer. If this even shined a light on hair loss it won’t go anywhere because the researchers will keep going the speed they are currently going. Doesn’t change anything just makes good hair loss news.
Couldn’t agree more, Gurvinder. Yet again another missed opportunity for our community to explain how the conversation needs to change around hair loss. Not even an issued statement from the American Hair Loss Association that could condemn violence and yet express the frustration and depression people feel suffering from hair loss. Ironic that Chris Rock narrated a documentary a few years ago titled “Good Hair” where his own daughter asks: “Daddy, why don’t I have good hair?” Maybe instead of slinging jokes about hair loss, he and others with a broad public platform could raise awareness and help financially contribute to a cure.
Hoping or complaining that more famous people will do something about hair loss without doing something yourself to raise awareness/capital is understandable, but unfortunately not a winning or practical strategy. Even my efforts get minimal support through my Patreon page by people who check this site 3x/day every day.
Fortunately, a few people are stepping up to the task like the HairDAO group https://www.hairdao.xyz/
heres a video of will smith making fun of a bald band memeber on the Arsenio Hall show. Saying come on its just a joke. https://9gag.com/gag/agg76PW just saying, how soon we forget.
Rock’s joke was really poor-taste, and the fact that I’m this blog shows how much hair matters to me, but Smith’s reaction was too much, he could have confronted him, face to face, I’d have understood that, but slapping him that way… that’s pure aggression
Will turned the Oscars into Jerry springer. Chris maintained himself in such an awkward position

Not sure if you’ve seen this?
Pyrilutamide
Very cool, thanks! Data to be released in June.
BearlyEagle,
I’m not sure why people are overly excited about the results . KINTORS long term plan is concomitant use of a topical anti androgen with a androgen degrader . I expect the efficacy of the topical anti androgen to be worse than finasteride . It will only be excited when we see patients result with both GT and any aa
I can only talk for me. But i am excited about Kintor because they are the only possible help for the next years. (Which i am aware of) if it would work as well as finasteride and if it works for everyone i d be glad to switch. (Since i am shedding as fk after almost 6 years fin)
All the rest like cloning is great and i hope they ll make progress…..but tbh this wont solve my hairloss in the next 10 to 15 years.
@Georg , how ia your hair? Are you going through a shedding phase?
I fked it up…. I have had 3 HT (fue) for my front and mid scalp. It looks great… I took fin for 5 years and it worked well…. In summer i always had some shedding….but i never lost ground…. (I started late so my top was already a bit thin but no skin came out. ) Last summer i got mad because of my summer shed and took dut twice a week with fin on the other days….. And two months long it looked like it would work. (Shedding reduced) but two months later my scalp started to be extremly itchy….. And i did shed at least 200 hair per shower!!! I kept taking dut some weeks and droppt it 4 months later ….(all together 4 months dut) the itch got less but its still here and i am still shedding as fk!!!! I lost sooo much ground on my crown…… And dont have enough donor hair anymore to fix it completly… I believe dut did something bad to me….. (Its not normal dut shedding…. Its extremly itchy with dandruff suddenly….)
So if i am lucky enough i can keep some hairs and stop it with Kintor …. If not i ll thin out completly…
I am sooo mad on tsuji haha its not like he failed … Its like he never tried…… He asks for donations for trails and basic research….how would i donate for basic research if we does not even really try to bring his science on the market? Idk i am tilted the last months 🤪
I pray i dont thin out toooo fast and kintor ll be available to buy in china and bring it to europe…and i hope it helps me….
Georg,
Kintor is not the only one on the come up. We have lots of quick movement from hopemedicine too with them being almost at the same step as kintor
Sounds good. They are already trailing on humans?
By the way, I also heard that Life Code has a program for grey hair reversal or prevention. I should have an update later this year.
Oo so you have contracts with them? Can you please ask them about potential timeline of their AGA drug?
*contact
Yes, I will Shayak, but the update will come later in the year. I won’t forget, so I look forward to updating everyone in several months.
when do you think we will get an update on tsuji and moongene FT? thanks and https://www.instagram.com/p/CblOx1tDVdj/ the blend :0
woofy, I don’t have a lot of hopes for Tsuji at this time but there is always a chance of a surprise. My opinion is based on the fact that we have heard so little from him over the years. Moogene update is almost certainly coming this summer. 🙂
I share your opinion on tsuji….its super sad cause he was the only one in near future who could have restored a NW7….
Junji Fukuda’s lab is more interesting to me at this time.
Yeah I agree with your opinion on tsuji. It’s unfortunate but hopefully a surprise comes like you said. As for moongene I can’t wait. 🙂
Can’t believe people defend Will Smith. Obviously hair loss sucks (although many people also shrug their shoulders and move on) but Chris was paid to roast people. That’s the whole point. Also , he initially laughed and only later slapped him after GI jane couldn’t handle the joke. I do not give a fuck if people are against my hair transplant or joke about my hair loss stack. I probably would laugh at myself if the joke is clever. Let ‘s move away from being too neurotic.
Update Mane Biotech
https://brightlandsventurepartners.com/nieuws/mane-biotech-raises-e-1-7-million-to-further-develop-its-regenerative-medicine-technology-to-combat-hair-loss/
Thanks Mane. Yes, others have noted that progress recently. Sounds like an important step for Mane B.
Follicle Thought,
“Based on preliminary results and the science behind Mane Biotech’s solution, the company has high potential to disrupt a major market with significant unmet need”. Why not share the preliminary results then. Until a company that makes such claims can actually back it up with photos or data, they are all talk. I think many of us would appreciate a “don’t tell me, show me” attitude from these companies. I’ve heard some bold claims from Mane but no real evidence that they actually have anything valuable.
Seriously, I’m not trying to be negative but I’ve seen this companies presentation to investors and I’ve heard at point rumors like “6 times more effective than finasteride” and as far as I know they haven’t really even explained how their technology works. They seem to use good buzz terms like “unlocking the body’s ability to naturally regenerate” and their presentation was all “razzle dazzle” but literally no substance or science whatsoever. It pisses me off when companies with 0 substance get peoples’ hopes up but make no mention of actual evidence. I don’t understand that. If you don’t have data or photos, please stop flapping your gums. That’s all.
Mr. Burns, it’s true they are all talk for now. They are also on the much quieter side of things and are not out with big marketing campaigns declaring their prowess. On the contrary, the founder has actually asked me multiple times to not cover their company yet because they are busy working on the refined technology and want to get their priorities straight. They have completed a small pilot trial according to what I’ve been told.
In that case, I do not mind them sharing hints of information about their efficacy. I don’t think of them to be flagrant about it. Their youtube presentation was in front of an angel investor conference and uploaded by a third party. I don’t get too excited until I see the photos/data, but I’m glad they exist. That’s my take.

Stemson will do a a presentationon the 20th of this month. https://attendais.com/2022-presenting-companies/
Cool, YoYo. Thanks for sharing.
Mane,
Thank you for sharing that. I had not seen any of that information about Mane Biotech. I read up on electrically stimulating hair growth and now I am intrigued by their potential treatment. I wonder what their progress is at this point and when we can expect to hear from them.
Epibiotech receives government support for alopecia areata drug candidate, Updates page.
More companies will probably = more failures.
They have been on a decades long roll of failures.
Time will tell and so much time has passed with nothing.
What an extremely useful contribution bill. What would we have done without this wonderful insight?
bill, will there be failures in the huge lot of companies working on hair growth? Almost certainly, yes. I think you may have missed that more companies also equals more successes as well. That’s basically “the whole idea” when it comes to innovation and more companies joining the race.
Hi admin, will ck regeon start their trial this year?
I’m not sure Shayak, I know they are working on it. Last time I connected they did not have a timeline estimate and said they would share when they have an update.
Hi maybe this is an interesting article admin?
https://www.babraham.ac.uk/news/2022/04/new-technique-rewinds-age-skin-cells-30-years
Thanks Pjotr, it’s interesting science but in likelihood it would be over 10 years before anyone could use this for hair – unless, someone takes up that task and announces a formal company. To be honest, this is similar to what dNovo is doing. We are lucky to have dNovo in the game.

this is a custom theater wig. I don’t know if it would hold up well as a regular hair system though but looks legit.

HMI TRIALS STARTED!!!!!
CLINICALTRIALSGOV
Where?? That’s for endo not for AGA, LOL don’t give false hope.
I am really really sorry, WTF its true!!
Thanks Nomoney, I see that the trial is not yet recruiting. But that’s good news to see overall.
I’ve added the news to the Updates page, thanks again.
Good to see HMI-115 is moving along.
Always been interested in it for the good results in the stump-tail macaque study.
Also the quote they gave on
“The antibody was effective in stimulating hair growth in aged stump-tailed macaques, nearly doubling the number of terminal hairs after 6 months even in previously fully bald areas and showing a sustainable impact even after 2 years post treatment”
The two years post treatment being the exciting part. Maybe this is a treatment cycle done every few months with lasting results. Which would help with convince with bi weekly injections.
But that’s just speculation on my part.
Actually its close to 4 years according to the patent and the graph showed little decline ar year 4 from peak results.
Hi Shayak,
Do you have a link for that graph? I’ve only seen the quote, on the HMI-115 update page, mention 2 years.
Thanks
But thing is its a Ph1 trial in Australia, TGA did not give permission for direct ph2 based on endo trial 😭, on the positive side ph1 will include both males and females unlike endo ph1 so we would have an idea about efficacy and safety this time around next year .
Thanks for pointing that out Shayak, I’ve corrected the update.
Wow, I wonder if Hope is still looking at a phase 2 for the rest of the world like they stated in their earlier press releases.
Its the same story all the time. So disappointing. We all thought Hope Med would be in Phase 2 already and now they start a two year Phase 1…. I mean WTF. Still no desaster because they maybe have a Phase 2 somewhere else in parallel as Kintor does as well.
Well they are doing an international phase 2 trial, and only got approval in late January.
They got rejected in Australia to go straight to phase 2 so they started a phase 1, which has to have been a quicker process than orchestrating an international trial.
Phase 2 will likely be starting in a matter of months, in multiple countries.
If anything them insisting on getting through the process in multiple countries shows some level of confidence . Hardly disappointing. Things are still moving.
Hi Skye, i will try to post the monkey pictures as well as the 4 year graph here soon.
I would be interested in seeing the pictures as well.
It’s like a phase 2 study. The study will last 6 months (like the macaques) and the injection will be given every two weeks. So you will be able to judge very well after the study how effective the drug is.
World Congress For Hair Research 2022 is hosting their conference in Melbourne Australia after 3 years. https://hair2022.org/
Any precedent for companies releasing trial results here?
I would hope so lol, it’s still very early so no information on speakers available as of yet

Hi admin, how to post pictures on this website, there is no options for attachment.
Is there a link to the photos Shayak? The only alternative is to post the photos on https://imgbb.com/ on then share that link here.

Thanks Shayak, great to see

Mane Biotech is on fire
👀 looks like they’ve got plans.
Is this another hair regeneration like Stemson and dNOVO?
Yoyo, no it’s not. It’s a device cap.
Mane Biotech has definitely piqued my interest. I have lots of questions about them. Do we have a timeline for them? Have electrically stimulated hair follicles been tested on humans? Would their cap need to go through clinical trials? And finally, how effective is there treatment going to be. If I’m not mistaken I’ve seen the claim that Mane’s solution is more effective than current medications.
Only thing I know for sure Mr. Burns is that their cap will not have to go through 3 phases of clinical trials. It likely can be marketed quickly, perhaps only needing one safety study or not even that as a medical device.
Hey anyone here using Ru?
Guys, I planned to have a new post by around today, but may be several more days before complete. Thanks for your patience until it’s posted.
Is it a significant big news articles?😅 Very excited. BTW Turn Bio gets more funding.
😄 I couldn’t call it a significant big news article, no.
But, I do believe it is quite interesting and represents a new angle on older approaches and new approaches. I think I could say that.
Anyone watching the stemson presentation today?
and is there anything new to say from this presentation?
Aranda Pharma is located in my home town. Maybe I should pay them a visit and volunteer for test subject, hehe.
By the way, why do companies still have websites without SSL certificates. Sites always look fishy and unreliable when they don’t have https enabled.
That’s neat you’re closeby to Aranda. Perhaps they didn’t think the SSL was a big priority.
It seems that they are primarily focused in tackling acne but I’ll keep my eye on them since they’re located so close.
Yeah, probably it’s like you said. Their site is purely informational so it’s not a big deal really. It’s just something that immediately says “be cautious” to me 😀 Might be because of my background in IT.
