Shiseido Results in July?
It appears that the Shiseido trial results for Replicel’s RCH-01 will finally be revealed sometime around July 2019.
In my post on WCHR 2019 Highlights a commenter named Neez shared this message:
“Someone working on the rch-01 trial send this mail to a guy asking about the phase II results:
Dear *****,
The results will be open in two months
.However, I will not able to inform you personally.
Regards,

Ryoji Tsuboi, MD, PhD”
An image of the email has been shared online.
Ryoji Tsuboi is actually the head clinical investigator of Shiseido’s trial for RCH-01. You can find the official page for Shiseido’s clinical trial here. On the lower end of the page is an section for “Result” which is currently still blank. I’ve previously been in touch with Ryoji Tsuboi and it sounds like this message from him is legitimate, Shiseido’s results should be released by the end of July 2019.
Will they be what the world has been waiting for? We shall wait and see. Stay tuned for an update on Shiseido’s RCH-01 trial results.

Great news! !!
I would like to know the details of participation in clinical trials to treat baldness.
It will be like the Mueller report. Massive anti-climax.
Based on the previous presentations of this company the average change % was not promising.
I hope this round shows considerable improvement otherwise it will be useless and the same as many other failures of other companies.
They used a lot higher dosages in the injections this time around. I think they were able to generate new DHT proof hairs but just not in sufficient quantities.
Awesome! Let’s hope there are some good results. It’s good that updates keep coming out.
I gives up on hair.
Winter is coming.
Well, let’s hope for the best. That said, I suspect the real “cure” will lay more with regeneration rather than rejuvenation. The sooner we get the former the better. I do hope Dr Tsuji is still aiming for next year; even if it will only be available initially for those who are resident in Japan.
Just have to post a reminder that there are many kinds of hairloss and many differing degrees.
There likely won’t be ONE single hair loss “cure” and even if this won’t help those of us more far along, ot could be a rock solid prevention… And who knows… Maybe in conjunction with other potential “cures” may be just what many of us on this blog need
I would like to take the forum members’ attention to this active ingredient to treat hair loss (lactoferrin) as it has treated members of other forums
do you know the source of lactoferrin?
Even if it doesn’t achieve the same amount of efficacy as finasteride it would still be completely sufficient if it managed to stop a further progression of hair loss so that one may be eligible for a hair transplant.
I’d totally buy this product even if there was maintenance only with no regrowth.
INSHA-ALLAH it goes Successful.
how much hair is rch-01 be able to regrow?
We don’t know until Shiseido releases results.
How many phase does it have to be ready for the market? They are in phase 2, does anyone know how many more phase they need to hit the market?
Any answer for my question?
In Japan all they need is the phase 2 results and they can be on the market. In the US they will need 3 phases.
Replicel needs money to do clinical trials and if Shiseido announces good enough results they will easily raise the money to do their own trials.
@paulito “Even if it doesn’t achieve the same amount of efficacy as finasteride it would still be completely sufficient if it managed to stop a further progression of hair loss so that one may be eligible for a hair transplant.”
Bingo! Any progress towards replacing Finasteride would be a massive step forward. This is often overlooked by people looking for a dimoxinil type miracle cure. The fact this might be available in the near future(not 5 years) is massive news. As admin points out, we will have to wait and see
Is the end of july any news?
I will have an update on this soon.
Any updates?
Nothing from Shiseido at the moment, hopefully for everyone’s sake their will be results released this year.
At fist glance, Phase I data was horrible.
“At 24 months, the average hair density increase for seven top-tier responders from the 2012 trial was 8.3% over baseline”
Growth was minimal …in those patients who experienced any growth (7 out of 19).
I dont know if they will manage to improve those results with the higher dosage of Phase II, but the fact that they are trying to understand what is different in the “responder” patients from the “non responders” may indicate that more than a higher dosage is needed for this therapy to work.
But results were also subject to the cell cultures being viable after shipment, I remember Lee Buckler discussing this. He suspected that temperatures to preserve the cells could have been compromised during shipment and lead to loss of efficacy. The phase 1 trial was only for safety though and does not account for a dose response, so with multiple injections and higher cc per injection results could definitely potentially improve.
I missed that. Thanks a lot for the heads up.
