InovAUGMET Research Unveils New Website
An Indian drug-discovery startup with a focus on dermatology has unveiled its new website. Inovaugmet Research, which was mentioned in a recent article on Follicle Thought, is aiming to bring new therapies to unmet dermatological needs. Inovaugmet utilizes a dermatology-specific drug discovery platform called iNeu-3D screen to find new molecules. From the company’s website, iNeu-3D screen is said to incorporate “cell biology, genetics, computational biology, and molecular biology to acquire a deeper insights of human skin development, disease modelling, and pre-clinical validation of our in-house therapeutic molecules.” Inovaugmet’s pipeline currently contains two molecules, the first being IAM-SOLV-001, a candidate therapy for androgenic alopecia. The all important mechanism of action (MOA) is not described on the website as of yet, but when discovered, will become the topic of interest on many online discussion platforms.
It’s great to see new scientists and companies from different parts of the globe getting active in research into hair loss cures. Inovaugmet Research is the first company from India to be publicly known to be working on new drugs for AGA. The next step for Inovaugmet would be to secure a strategic partner who can help put IAM-SOLV-001 into the necessary preclinical work and then human trials. While this project is decidedly early-stage, it represents yet another potential treatment against hair loss. It is widely known that a combination-therapy approach currently works best to slow hair loss and regrow hair, and adding new choices would certainly be a good thing. We hope to learn more about IAM-SOLV-001 from its founders in the near future.
